6 from 6 for First XV
Stamford School racked up 40 points for the second week in a row with wins over Oundle away and then Uppingham at home.
They scored 6 tries in a fantastic display where they outplayed their opponents in every aspect. The visitors crashed over in the fifth minute which seemed to kick-start the home pack into action. They dominated possession and Tom Charsley- Evans skipped through a gap to score and minutes later Skipper Monty Toseland crashed over to take the lead.
Zac Godfrey outpaced his opposite man to finish a cracking length of the field move and second row Ed Cox smashed over at half-time.
The dominance continued after the break. Toseland grabbed a second before no.8 Dave Koelman finished a brilliant team effort. Tom Charsley-Evans had his kicking boots on and nailed all the conversions to take the score to 42. Coach David Laventure was pleased for his players: “The guys have worked really hard and are getting all the rewards. They’re playing some great stuff and proving a tough nut to crack at the moment!”
