Chinese club starts at SJS
Children at Stamford Junior School have begun learning about Chinese language and culture at Chinese club.
In the club children have listened to “ The Grace Race “ – a Chinese Zodiac animal story, and have celebrated Chinese New Year of the Tiger. They have played games including a Chinese red envelope guessing game and ‘Rock, Paper, Scissors’ using Feet, not hands! The children have started to use one hand to learn to count numbers from 1 to 10 and how to sound them out in Chinese, too.
Lead Staff, Ms Pang-Morris said “The children are so excited that we have begun to write the numbers in Chinese. I’m so pleased that the children can now sound out most of the animals in Chinese, as well!”
We look forward to hearing more from the club!
