Georgia wins Christmas competition
Pupils across all Years at Stamford High School have been decorating and sharing paper Christmas trees to spread some festive cheer.
In the run up to Christmas, the High School library has held a Christmas Library display competition, which was open to all year groups, with the task to decorate a Christmas tree drawing which would be put on display.
A box was placed in the library so the girls could safely return entries, which were then quarantined for 72 hours before being put on display. Thirty girls entered their tree drawings into the competition.
Congratulations to Georgia Scoular in Year 10 for her ‘John Lewis’ style entry, which can be seen below; we hope you enjoy your Christmas Percy Pig prize!
Mrs Stewart, Learning & Resource Centre Manager at SHS, who judged the competition, said: “I always enjoy running a competition in the run up to the Christmas holidays so that the SHS students can get involved in making the Christmas display. In the past students have made paper snowflakes and snowmen which really help to make the Library feel festive.
“This year I have received some fantastic entries including themed Christmas trees. The winner is Georgia Scoular in Y10 with her ‘John Lewis’ Christmas Tree, I love the fact that the polar bear and hedgehog are peeping out.
“The two runners up are Tessa Herdale, Y8, with her Christmas tree being decorated with ‘help’ from the cat, and Annabel Anslow, Y7, with her Elf Reading Tree which is very fitting for the Library. Well done to everyone that took part.”
Two runners up of the competition have received a bag of chocolate coins for their entries.
