Joe achieves Arkwright Scholarship
A student at Stamford School has been awarded and Arkwright Engineering Scholarship, sponsored by Coventry University.
Year 12 student, Joe G, has been awarded a the Arkwright Engineering Scholarship. The Scholarships are awarded to students seen as potential engineering leaders. Joe joins a long list of successful Stamford students to have been awarded this scholarship since 2002.
After beginning his application in Year 11, Joe has undertaken a challenging year-long application process, including assessed application forms, a submission of his portfolio and an interview process. Joe described the process of achieving the award as “a tough but useful process” that has ”given him valuable experience for interviews in his future.”
Coventry University has sponsored his Scholarship, providing him with funding to expand his capabilities for his projects. With a keen interest in cars and vehicle engineering Joe hopes to attend Coventry University for their connections within the racing and motoring world.
Joe said: “It is a great opportunity, especially if your passionate about engineering” and that he believes “many of the younger students at Stamford could also go on to become an Arkwright scholar if they try and just go for it!”
