Prestigious Prize for SHS Student
Congratulations to Georgie Nicholson, a year 12 student from Stamford High School, who has reached the finals of the prestigious New College of the Humanities Essay Competition.
Georgie’s essay, entitled “Why does the modern world need literary critics?” explored the importance of literacy criticism, and made the top 10% of more than 6000 entries from across the globe. Georgie has been invited to the New College of the Humanities awards ceremony on Saturday 23rd July to receive her award.
Mr Zacharias, Head of English, Head of Senior Scholars, and Oxbridge at Stamford High School commented: “We are thrilled for Georgie and her wonderful achievement. This is an incredibly tough competition, but Georgie’s hard work and beautifully composed essay really shone through.”
