SES support local cricket team to raise £415 for Anna’s Hope

The Schools allowed their carefully prepared 1st XI cricket pitch to be used by the ‘Stamford Cricketers’ to facilitate raising funds for the Anna’s Hope charity during the summer. The ‘Stamford Cricketers’, who are made up of a group of local friends, were delighted to present Rob Hughes, the co-founder of the charity, with a cheque for £415 for the Anna’s Hope charity.

Rob Hughes said: “We are really grateful to Grant Lyon and the Stamford Cricketers for supporting Anna’s Hope at their cricket match, and to Stamford Endowed Schools for providing the use of the ground. Every penny of the £415 raised will go to helping children in the region with a brain tumour and will fund a child’s specialist rehabilitation for 3 months.”

Richard Smith, Director of Operations, Stamford Endowed Schools commented: “We commend the Stamford Cricketers for their initiative in raising funds for an important local charity and we were delighted to be able to support them in facilitating this match. The Stamford Endowed Schools place a strong focus on working with our local community and it is always heartening to be involved in charitable initiatives such as these.”
