SJS Celebrate India Day
Children at Stamford Junior School have celebrated ‘India day’ with a series of workshops and activities.
Every year group dressed up and participated in different activities throughout the day, including Bollywood and Bhangra dance workshops, learning to write their names in Punjabi, t-shirt designing, painting, colouring, paper crafts and learning about different spices. Staff and students also enjoyed an Indian themed lunch.
Teacher of Modern Foreign Languages, Mrs Popa, said: “We’ve had a splendid MFL Day, filled with Bollywood dancing in the sunshine, yoga, Indian food for lunch and countless learning and art activities to celebrate Indian culture and history.
“Huge thanks to the talented dancing instructors, the kitchen staff and the amazing teachers for making it such a wonderful celebration. And to the SJS students for enthusiastically getting into the atmosphere, including with many wearing beautiful Indian clothing.”
