Students taking BTEC Sport get an insight into industry
BTEC Sport Students at the Stamford Schools’ are receiving talks by sports and leisure industry experts to supplement their ‘Investigating Business in the Sport and Leisure Industry’ module.
Mr Neal Lattimore, owner of ‘Active Performance‘ gym, spoke to students this week via Zoom. Mr Lattimore used his own knowledge and experiences to discuss different career paths and opportunities in the sports and leisure industry.
Miss Fletcher, teacher of Physical Education, said: “the pupils hugely benefited from being able to talk to an extremely knowledgeable expert in the sport and leisure industry. The questions which Neal answered allowed the pupils to widen their knowledge on Active Performance’s demographics, staffing structure, target audience, costings, aims and market trends”.
Tom, a Sixth Form pupil attending the talk, said:”Neal’s knowledge of the leisure industry was outstanding and the information which he provided will really help me in my studies”.
To accompany this talk, students are going to also hear from Mr Tom Fletcher, manager of ‘Anytime Fitness’ – Peterborough.
The Schools’ would like to thank Neal and look forward to hearing from Tom next week.
