Tree Planted in Commemoration of Waseda School Friendship
The Stamford Schools have recently planted a #SakuraProject tree in commemoration of the ongoing friendship with Waseda High School, Tokyo.
The ‘Sakura Project’ is a celebration of friendship between UK and Japanese relations, using a Sakura Cherry Tree as a symbol. You can learn more about the project here.
A rugby tour in 2017 to Japan established Stamford’s connection with Waseda. Since then, Waseda’s rugby tour have been to visit us and we have started a flourishing student programme. Nanako (photographed on the right), Year 12, is currently studying at Stamford on an exchange programme from Waseda – she has shared her experiences in a testimonial here.
We look forward to a long-lasting friendship with Waseda High School, with this Sakura tree serving as a lasting representation.
