Drama students explore Stratford-Upon-Avon
Thirty-seven students from the Stamford Endowed Schools Sixth Form have visited Stratford-Upon-Avon to watch a production of ‘The Boy in the Dress’, and visit key sites associated with William Shakespeare, as part of their A Level studies.
Studying live theatre, and subsequently devising creative adaptations of literary works, forms a key part of the A Level syllabus requirement. Viewing ‘The Boy in the Dress’, an adaptation of David Walliams’ novel with music written by Robbie Williams, has therefore provided Year 12 and 13 Drama students and Scholars with the opportunity to work with a newly commissioned play.
Students additionally took the opportunity to visit locations associated with William Shakespeare’s past, including his school, graveyard and an exploration of the Royal Shakespeare Company Theatre.
