Activities are planned around our children and their curiosities and interests. This, coupled with regular forest schooling provides an engaging and exciting place for a child to play and learn. We also offer learning opportunities for swimming, Spanish and dance, with specialist teachers giving our children a head start at these life skills.
We have two age grouped classes, Goslings and Owls. The Gosling class is for children aged 2-3 whilst the Owls are our preschool-aged pupils. Each group has its own indoor space with open access to our specially designed outside play areas and learning environments.
In the video below our Nursery Manager, Nicky Woodward, will show you around the Nursery, and talk you through what we have to offer.
Our Day
We are open for 50 weeks of the year, with no retainer fee during half terms and holidays (following SJS school holidays).
Open on an extended day from 07:45 to 18:00 term time and 08:00 to 18:00 during the school holidays. For those using universal funded sessions for 3-year olds they can be claimed between 09:00 – 12:00 & 13:00 – 16:00
About our day

Forest School
Forest School allows children to explore and learn in a natural environment and assess risk in a safe and familiar setting. By giving our children the opportunity to challenge themselves through play, they develop self-confidence, emotional resilience and a sense of independence.
Outdoor learning

Facilities
The purpose-built facility occupies a peaceful, wooded area in the grounds of Stamford Junior School. It is accessible from the Cattle Market car park, just a couple of minutes from the Meadows and Stamford train station.
The wealth of facilities – including its own kitchen, a large outdoor play area and garden, two large rooms for the different age groups (which can be opened out into one via a collapsible wall) and ICT equipment – make the nursery the first choice in Stamford for many families.

Transition
We work very closely with the reception class teachers at Stamford Junior School. This provides a cohesive Early Years experience, helping those who wish to continue their educational journey at Stamford transition to ‘big school’.
