The Stamford Nursery School has a Reggio Emilia inspired approach to learning, a child centered play based approach where all activities mean ‘nothing without joy’. We place high expectations on children as independent and capable learners basing our projects on the fascinations of our pupils. Our staff are all highly trained with a number of degree level educators meaning your child’s early year education is taken seriously.

Stamford Nursery School provides education for children aged 2-4. Caring and committed staff offer children experiences rich in excitement and discovery, in a happy and safe environment. It is also the first step into the Endowed Schools family and facilitates a smooth transition to the Junior School.

When we demonstrate to children that their interests and questions are listened to, acknowledged and directly engaged with, children believe in themselves. They learn to know that their thinking and contributions are valued.  This must form a solid and firm foundation for building positive mental health as well as preparation for the 21st century.  These children will, without doubt, require the confidence to voice independent thought, embrace intellectual curiosity and critical thought in order to successfully navigate what lies ahead of them.  Here at Stamford we aspire to give our pupils all the tools, experience and encouragement they need to do just that.

Our Activities

The Nursery School embraces the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) approach to learning. This is a principle-led, child-centered and play-based framework. Getting to know our children as individuals, ensures a tailored learning experience drawing on needs and fascinations.

Facilities

The purpose-built facility occupies a peaceful, wooded area in the grounds of Stamford Junior School, and is accessible from the Cattle Market car park, just a couple of minutes from the Meadows and Stamford’s train station.

The wealth of facilities – including its own kitchen, a large outdoor play area and garden, two large rooms for the different age groups (which can be opened out into one via a collapsible wall) and ICT equipment – make the nursery the first choice in Stamford for many families.

It’s great to know that Alice has had a healthy meal and plenty of fruit during the day – it makes tea time that bit easier.
