How to support
Giving is personal, and we want to make sure you can support us in the way that feels right for you. Every gift is valuable.
Our commitment to the local environment is really important to us – and to our students – in this new development. The gift levels are indicative of some of our best loved trees, of which some may feature on our site for many years to come.
*These amounts are payable in instalments.
Gifts at a higher level are – of course – extremely welcome. Various elements within the sports complex are available with naming opportunities, and we would be delighted to discuss such opportunities with you. Please contact Jo Peck, Head of Development.
We will enhance any donation you make by claiming Gift Aid – as long as you confirm with us that you are a UK taxpayer. This means that your donation is worth an extra 25% to us ie a donation from you of £1,000 is worth £1,250 to the Schools.
And please remember, if you are a higher rate taxpayer, you are able to claim tax relief on your donation. If this applies to you, a gift of £5,000 is worth £6,250 to us and you are able to reclaim £1,250 from your original donation, so the total cost to you will be £3,750.
For additional information about this, please feel free to refer to this guide from the Government website.
Why should you support?
As a charity, we have spent decades exercising careful financial management to keep our fees affordable for parents. In the past, we have benefitted from generous donations that have helped us to develop the facilities we need to give our students the opportunities they deserve.
By donating, you’re helping us to create more opportunities for our students that we couldn’t otherwise afford to do. Every gift takes us closer to another life-changing opportunity.
Donating now doesn’t just unlock opportunities in sport: it’s contributing to the funds that will benefit the next generation of Stamfordians in so many different ways, resulting in physical activity being integral to their lives forever.
This project has the full support of the Schools and we will be leasing an additional area of land, adjacent to the site. This will enable us to build a second hockey pitch, thus doubling the number of hours of hockey that can be played by our students from age 3 to 18.
The development is sensitive to its historic location: local materials will be used wherever possible in the build, and we are reinvigorating the natural environment and wildlife habitats in the area through careful landscaping. Existing boundaries will be removed and replaced with native British trees and shrubs.
Finding a passion for fitness and physical exercise is proven to transform lives through supporting wellbeing and good mental health. This new facility will increase opportunities for all our students to discover the many different types of sport and activity, and to have the facilities they need to pursue those that they love.
Our community will also potentially benefit from these new facilities as we offer.
By supporting this project, you are helping us to create opportunities for all our students; to enhance their lives and instil in them a lifelong, positive attitude towards physical activity, and the benefits it brings to them.
Our sincere thanks to the many donors who have already supported this project.
Participation in sport by our students at Stamford High School has increased exponentially over recent years, not only in terms of how often they do sport, but also the vast variety of activities they now take part in.
As a result, the existing sports facility, on our Kettering Road site, is no longer meeting the needs of our students. The existing pavilion has worked hard for us, but it is now dated and uninspiring, and the enthusiasm of our students has thoroughly outgrown what the site can provide.
With your help, we can transform this part of our sports provision. Planning permission has now been granted to develop the site, and we are ready to start work.
Central to this new development is a new pavilion where dance, yoga, Pilates, indoor spinning, and a whole range of increasingly popular sports and activities can take place. To see the plans in more detail, please click here.
